First international match ever
The 1872 association football match between the national teams of Scotland and England is officially recognised by FIFA as the sport's first international. It took place on 30 November 1872 at Hamilton Crescent , in Patrick, Glasgow . 4000 spectators arrived to watch the match.
Both teams didn't have a coach and were selected by two players - Robert Gardner for Scotland and Charles Alcock for England.
The ticket price was (ridiculously low at today's standards price) one shilling.
Although the match ended 0 : 0 , newspapers said that it was very interesting match.
The sport magazine The Field wrote that "The result was received with rapturous applause by the spectators and the cheers proposed by each XI for their antagonists were continued by the onlookers until the last member of the two sides had disappeared".
Illustrations below shows situations from this match.
This looks really interesting. But remember to provide the SOURCE, both for the information and the photos.
