Scouting in football

What role player scouts do in football?

Player scouts evaluate the talent of footballers with a view to signing them on a professional contract for their employers. They are being called Talent Spotters.

A player scout typically attends as many football matches as possible to find new rising stars. Scouts who wish to identify promising young players typically attend lower-league club games, or  international tournaments for young players.

Scouts are looking for players who stands out by
their determination, technique and support for team.
For most of the young players, the presence of a scout is the biggest chance to enter a professional football scene and receive a contract from professional clubs.

  1. They operate in every professional sport, where big money is involved, e.g. basketball, baseball, hockey, don't they?
